Professional Placements

Through Education Business Plus’s Professional Development Placement Service the DfES encourage teachers to experience an environment other than education to update skills and knowledge; enable them to provide realistic careers guidance and better prepare young people for the world of work.

During the Autumn, Pizza Express, Knutsford, welcomed Food Technology teachers for a taste of their well established programme. Created in 1998, the programme gives a practical insight into the design and running of a restaurant.

The company is unusual in the food industry as it actively encourages professional development visits for teachers. As well as employing full-time regional Education Officers the company have a strong commitment to the arts and music.

Each school that takes part receives a copy of the Pizza Express Education Pack, designed by teachers and containing fun activities for all key stages that can be used in the classroom at primary and secondary level.
