Bringing Industry to Life

Bringing Industry to LifeLysander High School’s Year 9 students had their first insight into the business word by taking part in an Industry Day jointly organised with Education Business Plus and facilitated by representatives from the Army, Marks and Spencer and Boots. The day consisted of four different workshops - Skills for Industry, The Risk, production and Marketing - with each one tackling a different aspect of business to help the students understand the importance of employability skills.

The day’s activities gave the students the opportunity to develop their leadership, communication and team-working skills as well as giving plenty of scope to demonstrate creativity and enterprise. Perhaps most useful of all, it fitted into many areas of the curriculum, helping the students to link learning with working life.

Would you like to be involved with an Industry Day at a school near you? Call the EBP team on 01606 305210 for details.
