Sandbach Girls take a prize in STEM 6 Challenge
A team of Yr 8 girls from Sandbach High School took 2nd place in the National STEM 6 Challenge. The challenge involved the team designing a website for a Paralympian athlete. (All the STEM Challenges are built around an Olympic theme.) The girls went to London for 2 days to compete with other regional winners and finished in 2nd place nationally. The prize was £750 to be used by the school on other STEM activities.
STEM Challenge 7 to design an ‘App’ for the Olympics, sponsored by BT, is well underway and the area final will be held at the Venue in Northwich at the end of September. The winners will then go forward for regional judging and if successful will go to London for the final in October. STEM Challenge 8 will be announced shortly.
