Learning Through Work
EVE : Enhanced Vocational Experience
Based upon our highly successful two-year pilot this enhanced vocational work placement package responds to curriculum changes to better meet the needs of young people. This package will support the vocational curriculum and as a result will raise aspirations and improve employability skills.
Students attend a vocational placement for ten weeks with an organisation relevant to their vocational subject and complete a work placement diary leading to accreditation. To support this placement, Education Business Plus will deliver three workshops including preparation for placement (particularly health & safety), employability & sector skills and placement debrief.
Support Services
Education Business Plus also has a range of other services designed to support both students and teachers.
Business Mentoring
Business mentors provide role models to young people and offer them non-judgemental support through listening and talking together. Young people at risk of exclusion, or simply those lacking confidence can benefit greatly from having one to one sessions with their own mentor.
Peer Mentoring
We provide Peer Mentor training for any year group, to help with a new school, transition phases, anti-bullying or other areas of focus. This is a tried and tested programme, which benefits not only the mentees, but also the student.
Professional Development Placements
We can provide quality placements to support all areas of the curriculum but with particular emphasis on preparing teachers for the diplomas, which will be available for teaching from September 2008.
