"Hotel" Enterprise day at Sandbach High

On the 16th December 2009 Education Business Plus ran the new revamped version of the “Hotel”, an Enterprise Activity for KS 3/4 students. The day is based around the Travel and Tourism sector, and focuses specifically on the hotel industry.

At the beginning of the morning the students get to meet the employers from local industry who attended the day, and start to think about the tasks that are involved when running a hotel. To ensure the groups are working well as a team, they are all set a challenge where they have to come up with a ‘pitch’, which they will use to sell their hotel to a group of judges in a “Dragons Den” scenario.

As the day goes on the students researched, designed and developed their hotel concept and at the end of the day they presented their work to the rest of the group. Normal presentations were not allowed so the students had to think on their feet and come up with inventive ways of presenting their work which ranged from poems to dance routines!
